Job Objectives

  • Manage institutional partner relations with training providers (diplomatic skills, general skills, language skills) and be the first point of contact and coordinator for these providers
  • Ensure steady build-up of training programme offerings and the sustained quality of training provided
  • Coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s (MoFAIC) Human Resources Department on training-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures and oversee the quality management of the trainings provided
  • Manage the Executive Training Department strategy and develop departmental offerings in line with the training catalogue
  • Work to scale up the training programmes offered from individual to integrated initiatives that target all levels of diplomats

Key Responsibilities/Duties

Strategy and Planning

  • Develop the Executive Training Department strategies and related plans
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures and oversee the quality management of provided programmes

Operations

  • Manage the resources and the budget of the Executive Training Department in collaboration with the Academic and Research Departments
  • Contribute to EDA’s annual budgeting and planning exercises

People Management

  • Establish, develop, and manage relationships with relevant UAE government entities as needed, with a specific focus on the HR departments
  • Manage relations with MoFAIC’s Human Resources Department with regard to training needs, planning, assessments, student/employee records transfer, and any other aspects of coordination deemed necessary
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback on performance of department employees

Job Specification

Education

  • A minimum qualification of a master’s degree in Executive Education, Business Management, or a relevant field from a reputable/internationally accredited university. PhD is preferred

Relevant Experience

  • A minimum 10 years of experience in a public or private sector training environment

Skills

  • A proven record of performance in providing and managing executive education-style training
  • A passion for leading and shaping competencies in a diverse and cross-cultural environment
  • A strong background in project management
  • A good understanding of the training needs of diplomats
  • Ability and eagerness to work in a startup environment
  • Strong, clear, and effective communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • An inclusive, people-centred management style and an appreciation for the mission and culture of the Academy
  • Respect for the expertise of others and a belief in shared governance that promotes accountability and maximises efficiency
  • Computer literacy with professional experience in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent English and Arabic verbal and written skills
