Dr Sara J. Chehab

Academic Programmes Manager and Assistant Professor

Dr Sara Chehab is the Academic Programmes Manager and Assistant Professor at the Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA), specialising in political science and international relations. She teaches courses on International Economics, Political Economy, and American Foreign Policy.

Dr Chehab also coordinates various other courses at the EDA, most notably the Master’s Thesis courses. In her capacity as the Academic Programmes’ Manager, Dr Chehab supports the EDA Senior Management and Academic Department in the delivery of its performance objectives and coordinates the development, accreditation and delivery of the EDA’s programmes and courses.

Dr Chehab also coordinates the EDA’s overall engagement with the students, to ensure they have a first-class and well-rounded learning experience.

Prior to this role, Dr Chehab was Assistant Professor at Zayed University in Dubai, where she received a Teaching Excellence Award.

Dr Chehab’s research interests revolve around gender and diplomacy and women in foreign policy. She co-authors the annual EDA Gender and Diplomacy Diplograph. Her published works include the article, Social Networks and News: The Case of Emirati Women in Dubai. She also co-authored the chapter, American Foreign Policy and the Continuing Struggle Against Anti-Americanism which appeared in the edited volume on “National Security in the Obama Administration.”

Dr Chehab received her PhD in Political Science and International Relations, from the University of Delaware in the US. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations from the same university, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the Lebanese American University (LAU), in Lebanon.
