Alia Bin AlShaikh

Director of Communications and Outreach

Miss Alia Bin Al Shaikh is the Director of Communications and Outreach at the Emirates Diplomatic Academy (EDA). Since June 2019, Miss AlShaikh has been developing, executing and assessing the communications, marketing and outreach strategy of the UAE’s leading diplomacy training center. Her extensive role includes overseeing the integration of communications and outreach efforts across the EDA; facilitating communications and marketing needs for internal programmes, as well as organisational initiatives.

Prior to her role at the EDA, Miss AlShaikh held various roles at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Dubai, for more than 10 years, during which she held the title as the Director of Events PMO from 2015 to 2019. Her role included managing the strategy of creative development of new concepts and special projects as well as overseeing more than 200 strategic annual projects and events.

She was also a member of the steering committee of the Annual Meetings of the UAE Government and the World Government Summit. She also managed and orchestrated the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award, for two event editions. Prior to that, Miss AlShaikh worked at the Dubai Health Care City and at the Department of Seaports and Custom, in Sharjah.

Miss AlShaikh received her Master of International Business (MIB), from the University of Melbourne, in Melbourne, Australia. Previously, she graduated from Zayed University, Dubai, with a degree in Bachelor of Information Systems Applied to Business.

Miss Alia Bin AlShaikh’s awards and recognitions include, the Sheikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence in 2008, as well as the Prestigious Sheikha Fatima Award for Academic Excellence in 2003.
