Dr. Mariam Almahmoud

Deputy Director General

Dr. Mariam Ibrahim Al Mahmoud is Deputy Director General. In this role, she works to establish and to support the strategic and operational priorities of EDA executive training program. She undertakes a wide variety of activities as EDA launches the executive training program, which includes a variety of short-course programs in diplomacy field. She works collaboratively with the entire EDA and MOFAIC team to bring this exciting program to life.

In a career spanning 10 years, Dr. Mariam has held several roles within the UAE government. Prior to joining EDA, she was Director for Education and Training and Official Spokesperson at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) in Abu Dhabi. In this capacity, she implemented and oversaw the Knowledge Management programme, and represented the Authority and the UAE at various conferences related to nuclear energy.

Earlier, Dr. Mariam worked as Senior Training and Development Officer at the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED), where she established the training and development unit. She was responsible for policy preparation, process development, training forms, training database and employee training files, as well as for benchmarking best practices. She was also the project leader for the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.
