Job Objective

  • Responsible for the legal aspects Academy’s operations, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, administrative matters and other legal compliance.
  • Responsible for eliminating risks, fraud, corruption, complaints and job violations in EDA.
  • Responsible for negotiating, writing, reviewing, summarizing, researching and executing a wide variety of agreements for companies and clients both domestically and internationally.


Key Responsibilities/Duties

 Strategy and Planning

  • Provide expert and strategic legal advice to all employees.
  • Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically, in coordination with the Strategy and Performance Manager.
  • Identify proactive solutions and draft agreements that will eliminate or mitigate risks and maximize legal rights.



  • Ensure continuous legal compliance by the Academy, and limit the overall risk exposure.
  • Ensure legal objectives are met, offer counsel on a variety of legal issues.
  • Develop and set internal governance policies and manage the impact of various external factors.
  • Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of management decisions or courses of action.
  • Maintain relationships and create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.
  • Deal with external parties as required like Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) etc.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Academy and its members.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end process for dealing with suspected fraud and corruption in EDA.
  • Negotiate, write and execute agreements and contracts, draft terms and conditions in agreements.
  • Advise management on contract status, legal risks and business terms of various deals.
  • Provide assistance with global joint ventures, strategic partnership deals, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Research unique legal issues impacting the Academy by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions and codes.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications Department to ensure the material’s compliance with legal requirements.


 People Management

  • Provide relevant training to staff and faculty on essential legal topics.


Job Specification


  • Minimum Bachelors in Law or relevant field from a reputable/internationally accredited university.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.


Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.



  • Highly organized, punctual and responsible.
  • Ability to base the decision making processes on ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize work on agreed deadlines.
  • Ability and eagerness to work in a start-up environment.
  • Good understanding of legal framework and requirements in the UAE.
